A telephone box and a church.
I was struck by the juxtapostion of a telephone box and a church in Heaton Moor. Made me think of prayer. I also like the way the steeple was pointing upwards as if it was signally who we should be talking too. As the old BT advert used to say “It’s good to talk”…. especially when it’s to ‘the guy upstairs’.
The original comment about “Juxtaposition” reminds me of something I saw in a TV documentary about religion (“Faith in the Future”) back in the early nineties.
The camera started by showing a traditional Anglican church on the south side of a Bracknell’s ring road. It then panned across the road and settled on the Kerith Centre, the then-recently completed home of Bracknell Family Church, and you could see the old church reflected in the windows of the new one. Never forgotten that.
Perhaps Ian should visit Bracknell and take that shot. (There aren’t many reasons to visit Bracknell, but that’s one of them.)
