A Syrian souvenir.

Ann had the day off work today, and I’m too tired to start to sorting out my photos from the trip.  We did manage to start writing our letters to Thomas Cook about the use… or rather the inability to use travellers cheques in Syria.  We also unpacked the souvenir we bought at the artisans’ market in Damascus and hung it on the wall.  A model of a doorway in a traditional Syrian house.  It may look like the way into the house but it is probably represents the view of a door within the courtyard of the house. It that might lead you into the interior or it might lead you back out onto the street.
