I’ve spent quite a lot of time in the last couple of days updating details of the events and workshops happening at the studio. We have a lot going on over the next two months… there is definitely something for everyone… no matter what style of photography you enjoy.
Let me take you through the highlights….
TOMORROW – Friday 8th April – Strobist Night
Friday 8th April 2011 (7.00pm till 10.00pm) – Strobist night.
For tonights Friday Night at the Studio event it is time to switch off the studio lights and work with your speedlights / flash guns.
Weather permitting we will spend plenty of time shooting outside. Using some of the “urban decay” locations close to the studio and the park settings of Vernon and Woodbank parks. Actually… even if it does rain I’m hoping to set-up some outdoor shots as a demo of how we can still shoot even in those conditions!
We will have 1, 2 or 3 models available (depending on number of photographers booked).
I am pleased to announce that our model for this event will be, purestorm’s Emma Lou. You can see her profile here: http://www.purestorm.com/profile.aspx?id=emmaloux
Informal tuition and help setting up your lights will be available.
We already have 6 or 7 photographers booked for this and I am now in the process of booking at least one more model for the event. The weather forecast is good so there will be plenty of opportunity to shoot outdoors. We can cope with a couple more photographers so if you want to come – please let me know as soon as possible.
THIS SUNDAY 10th April – Kayleigh Kisses (4hrs just £50)
Four hours, four photographers, one fantastic model! Just £50 each.
We are offering two sessions 10am-2pm and 3pm-7pm. The number of photographers for each session will be limited to just four. Kayleigh will be working up to nude.

Kayleigh is also a MUA and latex fashion designer (and she’ll be bringing the latex to the studio with her!)
*** We still have a couple of places available at the morning session ***
Please contact me if you if you wish to book for this day.
15th April – Glamour Night
For this “Friday Night at the Studio” event we will be looking at glamour photography.
Our lead model for the evening will be Purestorm’s Sophie Rose. See her purestorm profile here: http://www.purestorm.com/profile.aspx?id=SophiexRose. If we get sufficient photographers booking I will arrange a second model to work alongside Sophie.
We will shoot a number of different set-ups using a range of glamour styles from soft focus 1950s style, via classic “page three” through to some more contemporary glamour styles. If you have your own ideas for set-ups, there will be plenty of time to try those out too.
Please note that the model(s) will be working to topless for some of the the evening.
The above image of Sophie Rose is taken from her purestorm profile.
Saturday 16th April – Digital rain & wet-look glamour workshop
This one day training event will teach how to create wet-look glamour images and to add rain effects and lightning effects in Photoshop.
During the morning we will spend 2-3hours in the studio working with the model. After lunch (which is included in the price of the course) we go into a tutorial session where you will be shown how to use Photoshop to add digital rain and digital lightning effects to the images we created during the morning session.
Our model for this event will be Sarah-Scarlett (as shown in the image above).
Cost £69 (includes lunch, printed notes, and a disk with video tutorial)
NOTE: There are only three places remaining on this workshop. So please book soon to avoid disappointment.
Friday 21st April – Good Friday…..
I currently do not have any event planed for Good Friday. However if there is anyone around who would like a shoot organising for this day – either during the daytime or in the evening, please let me know, and I will be very happy to sort something out.
Friday 29 April – Trash the Dress, an Antidote to a Royal Wedding
Friday 29th April 2011 (10.00am till 4.00pm) – Antidote to a royal wedding – Trash the dress shoot.
Fed up with the Royal Wedding? Want an excuse to get away from it? Come to our “Trash the Dress” shoot.
We will use some of the “urban decay” locations close to the studio for the first part of this event, which will see our model(s) climbing rusty fire-escapes, posing in front of shipping containers and sitting on crumbling walls.
Later in the day we will head up to the local parks where we will set up shots of the models lying in the fallen cherry blossom, climbing in the trees and hopefully splashing in a fountain too.
In the event of bad weather we will still do some work outside – such as models jumping and splashing in puddles before escaping the rain back in the studio, where we will finish trashing the dress(es) using with some paint based images.
1, 2 or 3 models depending on the number of photographers booked.
Model Details to be confirmed shortly.
