Male Model Night

Male Model Night

This week’s Friday Night at the Studio event will be a chance to work with a male model.  We will look at different ways to create images of men.I am pleased to announce that our model for this event in Thaddeus.  You can see his purestorm profile here:  http://www.purestorm.com/TazThad

There will be opportunities to do portraiture, including some dramatically lit head shots – if you saw the cast images I did some time back for a production of Hamlet you will know the style I have in mind!

There will also be a chance to do fashion, sports and even some “male glamour” images.

A Strobist Night in the Park

Time to get out your flash guns and lighting stands.  For tonight’s event we head into nearby Vernon and Woodbank parks to do some off camera flash shooting.  Bring your strobes and stands; bring your gels…. I have some you can use if you need borrow them.

We will meet at the studio at 7pm and then walk the two minutes up the road to Vernon and Woodbank parks.  In the event of very bad weather we will shoot in the studio.

I will be announcing the details of the model for this event shortly so please watch this space.

Crosby Beach

Today we head to Crosby Beach.  This will be a chance to photograph (at least) two models, and 100 Iron men.  There will be opportunities to get images in the sea, on the beach and in the sand-dunes.  As the light fades we will look at day-for-night strobist techniques.

Our lead model for this event will be Steph Owens (See:  http://www.purestorm.com/profile.aspx?id=stephowens).  I recently had the pleasure of working with Steph on Studio Based shoot and I was very impressed with her professionalism, enthusiasm and the fact that she was constantly coming up with ideas to improve our shoot.  I was so impressed that I immediately booked her for this event at Crosby.  Don’t miss this opportunity to work with her.

Heads up – Future Events

Friday, 5 August 2011 – Time Lapse Night
Location: Ian’s StudioTime: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Price: £10
For this event we will look at how to use your camera for timelapse photography.  There will be a opportunity to create a short time-lapse sequence in the studio and time to look at the editing and processing techniques required to convert the image sequences in to a short video sequence.  This event will also see the unveiling of the long-awaited time-lapse of the the studio being built!  More Information….

Friday, 12 August 2011 – Glamour Night (On location)
Time: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Price: £26
I am hoping to hire a location near the studio that will be suitable for an on-location glamour shoot. Depending on the number of photographers booking to come, at this event we will have 1, 2 or 3 models working to topless levels.   I will be announcing the location and lead model soon please keep an eye on the More Information…. page for details.

Friday, 19 August 2011 – Technicolor Grey
Location: Ian’s Studio
Time: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

At this weeks Friday Night event we will only be shooting with a grey background…. BUT we will look at lots of different ways to make that grey background into almost any colour we want by the use of filters/gels.  More Information….  (Including details of who the model will be!)
