Monument to fishermen and thier families
On the harbour in Corralejo there are two statues which commemorate the part fishermen and their families have played in making of the town of Corralejo.
The first statue shows a lone fisherman’s wife looking longingly out to see. Has something happened to her husband? A little further on is a second statue at first sight this appears to be a woman and child being comforted. As you approach the statue you see that the figure with them has a basket of fish and net. Closer examination still shows the figure is smiling. This is not a monument of comforting after loss, it’s joyful reunion of a fisherman with his family.
