Last summer I started a series of blog posts about travelling light with minimal camera gear and only an iPad for image processing. Sadly I didn’t get very far with it due to the fact that I had a number of technical problems.
Six months later and I am on another trip and trying again This time hopefull with lessons learned from the past experience I will have a bit more sucess.
So… what’s in the bag? 1 5D Mk II camera with spare batteries. 24-105mm f/4 lens. 50mm f1.8 and a 105mm f2.8 lens. I also have a canon 550Ex speedlight and a set of remote triggers (Yonganuo 603) and 3m ETTL lead. I also have a micro tripod. And that is about it.
On the post proecessing side I have my iPad with bluetooth keyboard and a minii stand. The software I am using is Photosmith with will permit me to caption and keyword my images on the ipad and then sync that back to Lightroom on my return. I also have snapseed installed so I can do some basic post processing.
I will talk in more details about the iPad set up and the software in another post. But for now let me leave you with some images from my first day here in La Palma.
I know that high sharpening and pseudo HDR is a bit over done these days but, processing options are a little limited on the iPad and all the scenes needed something. http://photos.imb.biz/travel/
