WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE YOU?
Mostly to be found in Stockport either chained to a computer screen, on hiding in my studio. However, a few times a year manage to break out and get to spend time working on cruise ships lecturing on Photography. My favourite ship being MV Marco Polo
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
This is a tricky question. I started out doing travel photography and I guess that is where my heart is. However, in the studio I love any form of photography that enables me to be creative – particularly, creative with the lighting.
WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO LEARN BY JOINING THE ACADEMY?
As I set up the Academy what I am hoping to learn from the academy is how much it’s members are improving with the photographs that they are making.
WHAT CAMERA DO YOU SHOOT WITH?
Canon 5D Mk III mostly – although I also use my iPhone, and a couple of point-and-shoot compact cameras. A camera is just a tool, I honestly believe it is possible to make great photos with whatever camera you happen to have with you.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE OF PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR?
This is tricky. I do have a soft spot for my 3m ETTL flash cable because it is a very quick and easy way to add an off camera light to a scene.

IN DOCTOR WHO, WHO IS *YOUR* DOCTOR?
To quote Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart… “Splendid chaps… all of them!” But my favourite Doctor is actually William Hartnell… “the orginal you might say”
SALADS OR BURGERS?
I prefer burgers especially with stilton cheese on them, but due to the need to lose weight, I am now eating more salads than burgers.
