At this session, you will learn to shoot full length and three quarter length portraits. The lighting set-ups covered at this session will be:

  • Short lighting with hair lights and fill light
  • Sandwich lighting with a lit coloured background
  • High key lighting with a blown out white background
  • 2 umbrella high key lighting with blown out white background

The session is a practical session and you will have the opportunity to practice these types of lighting by photographing a model. You will be provided with lighting diagrams for the lighting set-ups taught at this session.

Lighting diagrams will be provided for all the set-ups we work on throughout the evening so you will be able to recreate the lighting in the future.

Suitable for: Anyone wanting to learn to shoot portraits in a studio. Your camera must have a standard hot-shoe (with the middle pin) to accommodate the lighting trigger. You will need to be able to set your camera to manual mode and select an aperture in the range f/5.6 – f/11. No prior studio experience is necessary.

A minimum of THREE photographers booking will be required to run this event.
