Major Oak, Sherwood Forest

13 May 2006
Images in this photo diary are being posted about two weeks late!  Please bear with me… all the entries for all the days do exist… but  rather than swamp you with two weeks worth of pictures in one go I’m uploading several images each day until I manage to catch up.  (And I am gradually catching up at last!).  Don’t forget to use the ‘previous’ link to ensure you don’t miss any!

Today’s theme – Robin Hood Country. (A selection of images from my recent visit to Nottinghamshire).

1 May – Major Oak
As well as creating some seaonal images of the Robin Hood Statue (See yesterday’s entry) I wanted to take some spring time photos of the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest.  The Major Oak has been a good seller for me over the last three years (It has sold at least four times, and coincidentally twice last month).

The leaves are just appearing on the tree, ideally I would have like to have taken this picture with just a fraction more growth, but spring is late this year so I have to make do.

The gentleman with the camera in the foreground of this picture is the friend we were staying with.
