Hotel door sign in English, French and Arabic.

Yesterday I commented that I had used a phone call from a friend to inspire me to take a photo which will (in due time) be submitted for sale with one or more photographic libraries.

Finding subjects for stock images is a strange game, and when you are doing it all the time, you start to see the world in a very peculiar way.  For example, while I was in Tunisia last year, one of the hotels we stayed at had a “Do not disturb” sign.  It was bright red and had the message in three languages.  The moment I saw it, I immediately thought “stock photo” – Three languages… that means three times the countries that might buy it.

(Before any one says it…. yes, I know, it’s sad…. but, hey, I’d still rather be doing this than working for a large IT company!)
