A wild poppy growing amongst the stela commemorating children sacrificed to the gods Tanit and Baal

This was at the place of scrifice in Carthage.  It’ts not a place connected with war but it is connected with sacrifice… the sacrifice of children.

When we visited last year – I saw this single popy growing among the stela which commemorated the children killed here.
