The Streets of Vittoriosa
There is one part of Malta known as the Three Cities. That is where we have been today. We got the bus to the first city Vittoriosa, walked round it and through Cospicua and into the city of Senglea. Much of the three cities retain the original traditional Maltese streets. These are are narrow streets with over hanging balconies and often potted plants by the doors. Some of these streets do allow cars down them, but many don’t or can’t because of gradient or the fact that they are punctuated by steps.
The cities are hilly and we have walked more miles than we care to count today. That and the hot weather (apologies again to UK readers for mentioning how nice and warm it is here! <Grin>) is making us very sleepy at the moment.
