Witness for the Prosecution – The read through
Director’s Notes #1 – The Read Through
It is starting to feel real – I realy am directing “Witness for the Prosecution” for Woodford Players. Tonight we had the read through. For anyone not familiar with a “read through” this is where the cast sit around in a circle and read (aloud) the script from begining to end.
For a me as a director (I still find it hard to describe myself as that, this being my debut at directing) this is a chance to get a feel for how the different voices will work together.
I have to say I enjoyed the read through and I’m confident we have a great cast for this show.
As Director, perhaps you should ask the lady on the far right to act as though she’s interested? ;o)
I think the lady on the far right is just getting into character, just as the gentleman on the far left is carefully weighing up the evidence. Is he judge or jury?
