Model of the First Doctor (William Hartnell) in front of the TARDIS
On 8 Jan 2008, I wrote…..
100 years ago today on 8th January 1908, William Henry Hartnell (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0367156/) was born.
On November 23rd 1963, a new science fiction series premiered. William Hartnell played the title role.
Over 44 years later that programme, Doctor Who, is more popular than ever. Part of that popularity, and part of it’s longevity has to be attributed to him.
While setting up this photo it gave me an idea for illustrating depth of field and the effects of changing the appature when taking a photo. As part of the sequence of photos I took for this I got this photo of the first eight Doctors.
Doctors 9 and 10 are not present because this series of figures was produced before the series returned to our screens in 2005.
