This is Steph on the dunes. Two off camera strobes one camera right and the other camera left and slightly behind Steph with an orange gel on it. Vignette added in Lightroom and the sky darkened and made slightly more saturated. There's also a subtle split tone added to warm the image highlights and cool the shadows. Great image Ian, how do you cope with noise in the blues when darkening skies, they are becoming such a pain lately for me.
Two things Terry, once I start to see the noise creeping in then I stop. Secondly I a small amount of LR noise reduction applied. The other thing I do is to do as much of the sky darkening as possible "in camera" by under exposing the sky relative the the flash exposure for the subject. Ok…. that's three things. Other than those, I guess it is down to luck!
Cool :) The only time I appear to be that flexible is when I fall down and hurt myself.
Trey, Thanks. Steph is in deed a very flexible model – she is the only model I know who can jump in the air, do the splits AND touch her toes all at the same time : http://photos.imb.biz/models/shoot/stephcrosby/e5f7c6e7
