I was commissioned by a sign manufacturer to photograph the installation of some illuminated signs last week. They are at the new Greater Manchester Police HQ. I was a little nervous about wandering around outside a police station for a couple of hours photographing it, so I made sure I had contact details of a member of the GMP who knew I was going to be there, and I carried the a printed copy of the email commissioning me to do the work at all times.

This image is actually an HDR image of the headquarters I needed to do it as an HDR as the dynamic range of all the different parts of the scene was just to big to capture in one shot. Although the sign is illuminated and part of the front of the building is, the sides are not and I just couldn't balance all the building with the fading daylight. HDR was the only route. But I had to take great care in the processing to get as realistic and image as possible rather than the usual fantasy world HDR effects.
