The Olde Vic pub in Edgeley
I’m trying to set aside some time each day to actually create an image. I was looking for inspiration this morning and checked a few “this day in history” type websites. Today in 1901 Queen Victoria died.
That gave me my theme. Queen Victoria. Next did I have anything with Victoria on it knocking about the house? Nope no odd Penny Black stamps around. Anything Victoria related in the area? Google reminded me of “The Olde Vic” (formerly the Victoria Vaults) on the corner of Chatham Street in Edgeley. Brilliant I could swing by there easily on my travels.
The pub, like the monach it is named after looks as though it has died. No signs up outside and the exterior looks very much the worse for ware. Although I believe the pub is still operational and inside apparently looks a lot better than the outside.
The image has been processed with Nik Software’s Silver FX Pro to give the BW conversion.
