A jay on a garden bird feeder
I am not a wildlife photographer and don’t really have the lenses or the patience to be able to do it properly. However for the last year we have had a rather unusual visitor to our garden; a Jay. I couldn’t resist waiting in the garden for a full quarter of an hour to get a shot it. (And before anyone comments that is a long time for me and wild life work).

You want to come and sit in our conservatory – we have four or five jays at a time in our garden – beautiful birds.
Amazing birds – I never realised how big they were until I saw one for the first time last year. From the photos/illustrations I’d seen I had always assumed they were the size of sparrows!
They have voices to match their size – ugly, coarse shouts. Much nicer to look at than listen to.
