Sometimes when creating stock photos you need to look at the world in a different way. For example look at this image I create to be used to illustrate stories about car road tax in the UK.
The image has sold once and a slightly different composition of the same car and discs has sold twice. It is all about thinking about illustrating the topic in a different way. I sometimes refer to it as ‘thinking sideways’ – approaching the task from a different angle.
Sometimes the ideas not work. For example this image to illustrate “mail-order brides” has never sold.
But this image of the same model choosing healthy food over instead of cake has.
With that bit of background information take a look at this link I found recently 50 Completely Unexplainable Stock Photos No One Will Ever Use. Some of the images I can kind of see where the photographer is coming from, but in others I’m left just bemused.
