While I was on the MV Marco Polo.  One of the questions I got asked a lot was about how I edited my images and in particular how I got all the detail in images like this one of Funchal, Madeira.

The answer is that I use a suite of plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop from NikSoftware.  The image of Funchal was initially processed in Lightroom then I used Nik ColorEfx Pro to bring out the details in the image.

There was some good news about Nik Software that was announced last month (probably at the same time I had passengers asking me about it on the MV Marco Polo).  The suite of plug-in’s (there are 7 of them) used to cost about £100 to buy.  But Google, who currently own the rights to them, have decided to make them available for FREE!
