One of the questions I get asked a lot at the studio is about where I get my background papers from.  I also get asked about the cost of the papers.  As I have just ordered EIGHT new rolls of paper for the studio, I thought this would be a good time write a blog about it all.

The background papers I use at the studio are a standard studio size 2.72 metres (8’11”) wide and the length of the paper on the roll is 11m (36ft) long, 180 gsm.  There are many companies that supply papers in these sizes, Colorama perhaps being the most well known.

The supplier I use is “Creativity Backgrounds” – They have 50 different colours and are just a little less expensive than Colorama.  Creativity Backgrounds also do an offer buy three and get a fourth roll free.  So I tend to order my papers in batches of four.  The price is £42 (inc VAT) per roll.

Including the eight rolls I have just ordered the colours of the rolls I currently have at the studio are:

Arctic White, Storm Grey, Ultra Black, Cherry, Sunflower, Sulphur, Summer Green, Riviera*, Aqua, Royal Purple, Barley*

Click on the links above or on the swatches below to go to the info page for each colour at the Creativity Backgrounds website.

Notes.

* The Riviera roll, is towards ‘end of roll’ and will not be replaced in the near future

* The “Barley” roll is only 8ft (2.4m) wide.
